Great British Elms – The remarkable story of an iconic tree and it’s return from the brink
The Conservation Foundation literally grew out of a project launched in the late 1970s to plant disease resistant elm trees. This story is included in Great British Elms by the Conservation Foundation Co-Founder and Director David Shreeve and Mark Seddon with stunning pictures by Sam Ford.
At the time of the original Elms Across Europe project the country had lost over 20 million elms and most people thought ‘the elm had had it’, but this book, published by Kew Gardens, celebrates the remarkable story of an iconic tree and its return from the brink.
